Included in the kit is:
Inventor’s Manual
Design journal
Workbook
CD with the exercises
3 ring binder to organize your project
Please scroll down to see more detail for each of the boxes. This self-help method should allow you to perform a significant amount of work on your idea or invention before needing to pay someone to help you.

If you have an idea worth pursuing, or even talking about. The idea should be properly documented. This is cheap protection for whatever method of protecting your idea. Remember, this journal should capture your idea, development work, meetings and discussions, other related information you find along the way. The journal provides a full documentary (story) of your idea and will be invaluable later. This is a good sized file (1.3 mb) so it may take a couple minutes to load.
Once your idea is well documented (previous step), you can more safely discuss it with other people. However, to provide the most protection, you should have the company or person you will be discussing the your idea with, sign a nondisclosure agreement. Be careful, even with the nondisclosure agreement the integrity of your idea is your ability to fight for it in court if someone steals your idea. Because of this, the best protection for your idea is working with someone you know has the integrity to maintain your propriety. If you decide to move forward with Veritek EMP, we will require that your idea is fully documented and a nondisclosure agreement is signed and in the possession of both parties. You may supply your own nondisclosure, or you can download the Veritek Nondisclosure Agreement, complete your sections and mail or fax it back for our signature. Our contact information is on the bottom of the home page.
Evaluate Your Idea for Feasibility
This is a hard step. It is the point where you need to honestly look at your idea to see if it might actually work or be sellable. Sometimes, it is necessary to build a concept feasibility prototype to evaluate the idea. The prototype at this stage is usually pretty crude, duct tape and foamcore level or breadboarded circuits. It is the most basic level just to prove the technology of your idea could work. Beyond that, does it make good business sense.
This is the point where you need to build a prototype of a product to demonstrate the idea. Some ideas don’t need prototypes but when it is a product idea and you are trying to get funding or just move to the next level on your product development process, the purpose is the same – show a product rather than try to explain it.
A patent can be a costly endeavor. However, if your idea has made it to this step and you have determined that this is the direction to head. We can help you start in the patent preparation and help you to find a competent patent attorney in your area. We recommend using patent attorneys becasue they specialize in this arena and you will get the best patent following this path.
An incubator is a company that helps inventors and startup companies develop and grow their business. Focus, accounting, managment, structure, strategic planning, manufacturing, quality, marketing, distribution, and customer service are a few of the areas of expertise that an incubator company can bring to the table. Of course, developed, mature companies do not need an incubator but if you are a startup company, this can be the difference between success and failure.
